Do you know a classroom hero?

I came across a new way to say thank you to the teachers, administrators, and support staff that make sure your child is learning every day. Classroom Superheroes is a brand-new website, sponsored by National Education Association and Jeep, dedicated to giving parents, students, and the community a chance to publicly recognize those educators that have made a difference. First, you nominate the teachers or staff you want to acknowledge, and encourage them to create a profile on the website. Once they have created a profile, you (and your child!) can post comments and videos, and share their profile through Facebook.

During the school year, it can be hard to make time to thank your child’s teacher. This website would be an easy way to pop in and say thank you for the extra time spent going over an exam or intervening in a playground fight. Before that, though, and before summer gets fully underway, take a minute to nominate a few of your child’s favorite teachers or school staff. Once they create their profiles, sit down with your child and write your appreciation together, and let that person know what a difference they made!
